Understanding different seating arrangements - Which seating layout is best for your event?

Every celebration is different and thus the event preparation is done accordingly. From flower arrangement to decoration and catering, everything is planned accordingly. And, the seating arrangement is no exception. Seating arrangement plays a significant role in keeping your guests feel comfortable while they are enjoying the event and food.

But how do you choose which seating layout to choose from? Whether you are having a birthday party, a wedding or a corporate event, a seating layout can make all the difference. Thus, it’s important to know the different seating layouts available and which you can choose for your event.

U SHAPE - The tables & chairs are arranged in an open-ended form in the same way as that of the English alphabet U. This type of arrangement is popular especially for training, conferences, workshops, and meetings. With this seating arrangement, you have an open-end that allows a focal point and allows the presenter to engage the audience by reaching their seats conveniently.

Horse Shoe - Almost similar to U Shape, with the only difference being the chairs arranged in an open-ended configuration with the audience facing inwards. These are best when you have to arrange corporate meetings where the attendees' strength ranges from 50-60. Like U shape, this seating arrangement also provides a focal point and gives enough presentation area.

Hollow Square - For in-house party arrangements like large rooms, banquet halls, Hollow Square seating arrangement just works perfectly. In such type of seating arrangement, you can easily make discussion or announcement possible and allow audiences to consume plated food and beverage easily.

Boardroom - Boardroom is a smaller version of the Hollow Square or U Shape with the audience all facing inwards. As the audience all facing inwards, it encourages audience interaction. It’s popular for small meetings, one on one interviews, small presentations, and team briefings. This pattern is nowadays very common in home events where family members can sit and enjoy in a group while having their meal.

Banquet - This seating arrangement is quite popular for gala dinners, awards night, Christmas parties, Indian event catering in Connecticut and other informal events. The audience is seated around the circumference facing inwards and watching the end and enjoying the meal.

Cocktail - Cocktail seating pattern is the most efficient way of making use of the floor space, with maximum room capacity available. However, even though audiences are able to freely mingle and roam, they do not find a chair or sofa to rest while enjoying.

We hope you find this information useful and ask your Indian Event Catering provider in Connecticut to get it done in order to provide the best seating arrangement for your guests.
